"The pineapple motif is a staple of our repertoire. The fruit, indigenous to South America, is symbolic of hospitality and has been incorporated historically in media such as ceramics, architecture, and silversmithing among others. Each pineapple "petal" as we call them, is first created as a small hand formed sphere.

It is later elongated and adhered  to the body of the wheel thrown piece. The Glazes that cover the piece later stretch and pool through this highly textural surface creating varied visual effects."
